Double-decker buses will be introduced for the first time on the Noida to Greater Noida route. These buses will operate from UP Roadways Noida Bus Depot in Morna to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has also notified that the Noida depot will receive 2 double-decker buses by 15th May 2025.

Advantages of Double-Decker Buses in Noida

Since double-decker buses have two levels for seating, they have a higher passenger capacity. This helps reduce the number of buses needed on busy routes, which helps alleviate traffic. These buses are being introduced to enhance the commuting experience for daily travelers, said Manoj Kumar, Regional Manager of UPSRTC (Gautam Buddha Nagar).

Noida to Greater Noida Double-Decker Bus Route and Stops

For the time being, Noida depot has regular buses servicing the Pari Chowk route. The new double-decker buses, which will be launched on 15th May, will be replacing some of these. After the commissioning of the double-deckers, bus stops, routes, fare structure, and time schedules will be set and issued to the public.

The Noida Bus Depot has already set up charging facilities to service the new fleet, which suggests that the buses will be electric, furthering Noida’s initiatives on cleaner public transport.

In yet another unprecedented action, the Noida Transport Department has opted to cancel registration for 3,000 aged vehicles every month. This applies to vehicles beyond its age limit. Initially, the registration is put on hold for 6 months, during which time owners have the opportunity to secure a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to transfer the vehicle out of the Delhi-NCR region.

How to Get NOC from Noida Transport Department

Suspended vehicle owners can approach the transport department to obtain an NOC. This document permits the transfer of the vehicle to areas beyond the designated NCR non-polluting zones.
