Residential Properties — Practical Guidance
Ideal Situation: Entry facing East/North, master bedroom in Southwest, kitchen in Southeast,
pooja/meditation area in Northeast, toilets in Northwest/West, Brahmasthan open and light.
Common Non-Ideal Situations & Remedies:
• Entrance in South or West: Keep the entry brightly lit, paint the threshold in light reflective tones, use upward-facing lights or brass/metallic nameplates to deflect dense energy. Use a small water feature or plant in the north/east inside the house to encourage flow.
• Kitchen located in North/Northeast: Avoid placing the stove directly adjacent to major water tanks. Use a partition or tall wooden cabinet to visually separate stove from water fixtures. Use warm colors on the east wall and avoid heavy blue/black shades near cooking area.
• Bedroom in Southeast: Use cooling, pastel colors (light blue, mint green). Avoid heavy red decor and large mirrors; reposition bed so head points south or east. Use soft lighting and blackout curtains for better sleep.
• Toilet in Northeast: Keep strict hygiene and continuous light. Use moisture-resistant paints, regular exhaust, and salt/charcoal bowls (changed regularly) as symbolic cleansing aids. Place a small indoor plant (like peace lily) near washbasins to absorb humidity.
• House with low natural light or obstructed directions: Use artificial daylight LED lamps with color temperature 5000–6500K in activity zones. Introduce mirrors, pale colors and reflective surfaces; keep clutter minimal to improve perceived space.

Structural vs. Non-Structural Remedies
• Structural (if renovating): Adjust windows, add skylights, or create openings in northeast/north for light. Re-route drainage if feasible away from northeast.
• Non-Structural: Colors, lights, indoor plants, portable fountains, area rugs, and furniture arrangement to open pathways and energy flow.
