To alleviate congestion on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, the government has finalized plans for a new elevated road that will run from Dhaula Kuan in Delhi to Manesar. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the elevated corridor is expected to be completed in three months, allowing rest for the traffic between Delhi and Gurugram.

Existing Flyovers to Be Integrated into New Plan
Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Rao Inderjit Singh finalized the project during a recent meeting. Within the framework of this plan, officials have been instructed to ensure existing flyovers are seamlessly integrated into the new elevated route. The DPR will explain how these additions will be implemented and the infrastructure will remain intact.
This comes after Rao Inderjit Singh’s initiative about the overwhelming daily gridlock on the Delhi-Gurugram stretch. Gadkari seems to be particularly concerned about the issue too, agreeing that addition of new infrastructure and road widening is needed. Infrastructure improvement is already underway, and he indicates arrangements with the Delhi government are planned for enhanced synergy.
Addressing the pressing issues was the plan to produce a congestion-relief scheme for the Mahipalpur Flyover within one week.
Contractor Delays to Face Action on Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari Highway
Singh in the Gurugram-Pataudi region also pointed out the slow progress of National Highway NH352W that links Gurugram, Pataudi, and Rewari. Also, the Pataudi Bypass is yet to be finished, even though it has received many deadline extensions. Gadkari has told his officials to start taking measures on the contractors who are working on the project.
In order to advance the delayed projects, new tenders will be posted for the work to be done on the Manesar Elevated Flyover, as well as Bilaspur Flyover. The new tenders will be advertised on the 15th of April, and winning contracts will be given in the first week of June.
Kherki Daula Toll Plaza to Shift to Pachgaon
In another major development for regular commuters, the Gurugram Toll Plaza will be moving to the new Pachgaon location. In the expected future, the roads that link Gurugram to Jaipur will undergo significant improvements, including widening, and the addition of new lanes. Part of the rationale for this move is to improve traffic flow as a whole while also streamlining the inconvenience for drivers. As emphasized by Gadkari, the toll revenue collected for this area will be redirected towards upgrading projects for the National Highway Delhi-Jaipur, including constructing new flyovers and underpasses.
Toward the end of May, construction of the Salawas Chowk underpass is predicted to help mitigate traffic congestion in the surrounding region.
Dwarka Expressway Tunnel to Open by May-End
In addition, travelers should get ready for the opening of a new tunnel on Dwarka Expressway by May’s end. This key development will alleviate some of the congestion around Sirhaul border on the Delhi-Jaipur corridor. Gadkari has reiterated that surrounding construction should not be done until the tunnel is open, so it can be kept open indefinitely without needing to close it in the future.
More Infrastructure Upgrades on the Horizon
There is also a discussion of new enhancements to Pasrakhni Khera Jheel park by Rao Inderjit Singh and Nitin Gadkari, which include:
- Pachgaon Chowk Flyover and Undercross
- Rathivass and Salawas underpass
- Bawal Chowk flyover
- Jaipur Side additional 3 lane roadway
- New National Highway From Nuh to Ferozepur Jhirka
Conclusion:
This work will facilitate better movement between these two cities by reducing commuting time and the number of stops that need to be made along the route. With the addition of new flyovers and underpasses as well as intended toll relocation will increase access and significantly reduce travel time. These additions will improve commuting and travelthroughout the Indo-Gangetic Plain.
