RTA air taxi service in Dubai will launch by the end of next year and promises safe and quick movements between important cities within the Emirate. The authorities claim that using this kind of transportation will help to reduce travel times across Dubai by nearly 70%. For example, a journey from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah, which usually takes about 45 minutes or more on the road, may be shortened to just ten-twelve minutes via air taxis. Every air taxi has provision for four passengers together with a pilot and there is also enough area for luggage.

These air taxis are purposefully built so that Dubai dwellers can go about their work without any hitches. Safety and efficiency are achieved as long as they stay at altitudes ranging from five hundred meters to one kilometer, and those heights depend on how far these planes are going to fly. As such, at most times airplanes used in short distances maintain between one hundred to five hundred meters above sea level while others that cover longer distances move at one thousand meters above sea level.

Such planes are flown by licensed pilots who have had specialized training for six-eight weeks in order to guarantee safety and accuracy when navigating. Joby Aviation developed a mobile application through which it is possible to secure a ride whilst Uber’s integration simplifies matters further. A single passenger does not hinder operation of this service.

It takes less than ten minutes charging these air taxis completely beginning immediately after landing where ground personnel connect them with charging points at vertiports where they land.
