More Affordable Premium Travel

Passengers can now upgrade to premium class by paying only 20% more than the standard fare, down from the earlier 50% markup. This means the premium ticket now costs just 1.2 times the standard fare, instead of 1.5 times.
For example, if a standard ticket costs ₹100, a premium ticket will now cost only ₹120 instead of ₹150.

This fare reduction is expected to increase footfall in premium coaches, which had lower occupancy compared to standard coaches. With this change, passengers will also gain access to premium lounges, adding further value to their journey. NCRTC anticipates that this will boost overall ridership and revenue.
