Mumbai Underground Metro
This ambitious undertaking is being executed by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), a joint venture between the Government of India & Government of Maharashtra with strong support from Japan reflecting its significance as well as the global involvement required for success. Once operationalized, this mass transit system will greatly reduce travel time within city limits thereby decongesting traffic jams along major routes such as Western Express Highway or SV Road, etc., among other benefits it would also provide much-needed fillip towards improving the public transport network connectivity across different parts till now considered difficult for intermodal transfers due absence metro lines connecting them directly apart from existing suburban railway stations scattered all over Mumbai.
