Madhya Pradesh’s infrastructure is poised to take off, Mohan government plans to build six new expressways in MP which would be truly transformative for the state’s infrastructure; they will connect it with the main national highways and enhance intercity connectivity too; apart from this it is expected that there would also be the creation of new jobs; and around these six expressways business corridors are planned to be developed by Mohan administration.
The names of these six expressways are Atal Pragati Path, Narmada Pragati Path, Vindhya Expressway, Malwa-Nimar Vikas Path, Bundelkhand Vikas Path, and Madhya Bharat Vikas Path. These roads will particularly benefit sectors such as agriculture, mining tourism, and manufacturing among others during their construction phase.
Atal Pragati Path
Atal Pragati Path originally known as the Chambal Expressway passes through Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Rajasthan states; an estimated budget has been made for its construction which amounts to 300 kms.
Narmada Pragati Path
Narmada Pragati Path is an ambitious project of building a 900 km (560 miles) long road along the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh. Starting from Amarkantak this road will go up to the Gujrat border. This project will help improve connectivity trade and tourism within the state.
Vindhya Expressway
Vindhya Expressway is a proposed national highway of almost 676 km in length in Madhya Pradesh (MP); it starts from Bhopal and ends at Singrauli which lies on the UP border. This expressway will fast-pace the development, especially in the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh while linking several other national highways.
Malwa-Nimar Vikas Path
Malwa Nimar Vikas path also known as the Indore-Dhar-Alirajpur corridor is one of the most ambitious projects for Madhya Pradesh (MP)’s development; it is a 450 km long national highway connecting Indore to Alirajpur in the southwest part of the state.
Bundelkhand Vikas Path
Bundelkhand Vikas path also called Jhansi-Lalitpur-Dewas-Sagar National Highway is a 330 km long national highway that connects Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh [UP-MP]; This is going to be a very important project since it will help in developing connectivity between these two states which have rich cultural heritage sites besides natural beauty spots too so there can be an increase in people movement as well as goods transportation leading to more business activities thereby creating employment opportunities around this area.
Madhya Bharat Vikas Path
Madhya Bharat Vikas path also known as the Sidhi-Satna-Rewa-Panna-Katni-Singrauli corridor etc. is another proposed major roadway of length about 746 km in Madhyapradesh. It would contribute significantly towards the Bundelkhand region’s growth, particularly in Mahakaushal areas where up until now there has been no proper means for faster travel within MP itself so this expressway promises revolutionary changes by connecting various cities inside MP.
