This is far higher than its previous budget of ₹2,497 crores. On top of this, one of the primary benefits of this project is for commuters, as it enables travelers to access the Noida Expressway via Agra’s Ring Road.

Gwalior-Agra Highway Passing Through Four Districts

Commencing from Gwalior, a high-speed corridor will also pass through more areas. These areas include Morena, Dholpur in Rajasthan, and Agra in Uttar Pradesh. This highway is expected to boost the economy and reduce traffic congestion, as it’s a 6-lane expressway and spans 89 kilometers with an additional 88.4 km planned for construction.

550 Hectares of Land Acquisition in 66 Villages Across Three States

The rough estimate of the land for the Gwalior-Agra High-Speed Corridor totals 550 hectares over 66 villages across 4 districts in three states which gives the Autonomous Board of NHAI the ability to purchase. NHAI representatives state that the land purchase for the section of the highway is almost finished, with no problems to report.

  • Madhya Pradesh: Susera village in Gwalior. 32 villages in Morena, Dongarpur Lodha, Kotwal, et cetera.
  • Rajasthan: Dholpur 18 villages, Mahdpura, Pahadi, et cetera.
  • Uttar Pradesh: Agra 15 villages include Iradat Nagar, Deori, et cetera.
  • Distance Travelled by Road has Been Reduced by 32 kilometers

Travelers using the Gwalior Agra corridor tend to use NH-44 route which stretches for 121 kilometers. This trek takes approximately three hours because over 50 thousand vehicles use this route on a daily basis. The traffic build-up because of this is severe due to the endless stream of cars. The new corridor will reduce the distance to 89 kilometers elevating commute speed to one hour and a half this time will only be possible because it avoids highly populated zones. Alongside this, the relief from congestion within NH-44 will automatically improve travel conditions for those who use this road.

Bidding Process Underway, Construction to Begin Soon

The NHAI officials have suggested that they are well on their way to accomplishing the complete land acquisition process and that the bidding phase is already an available option. In the next month advance construction tenders will become available allowing faster progression towards reaching the goal. In order to mitigate hold-ups the project lead declared that, alongside land acquisition, all other pertinent governmental processes will be processed without any delays, thus obtaining all necessary departmental approvals (NOCs).

The projected real estate development along the Gwalior-Agra High-Speed Corridor range from Agra, Gwalior, and even further areas, is expected to rise along with improved connectivity.
