To improve last-mile connectivity to Namo Bharat stations in East Delhi, the Delhi Government has launched a dedicated fleet of mini electric buses under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector (DEVI) scheme. These buses will now serve thousands of commuters daily, linking the New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar Namo Bharat stations with nearby residential and commercial areas. The initiative is part of a joint effort by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to make rapid transit more accessible and eco-friendly.

Three DEVI Bus Routes
Three specific mini electric bus routes have been launched to support connectivity to the Namo Bharat rapid rail stations. These routes are:
-
New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat Station to Anand Vihar ISBT
-
Anand Vihar ISBT to Ashok Nagar Border
-
Ashok Nagar Border to Mayur Vihar Phase-3 Paper Market
These routes have been strategically planned to cover key population centers, marketplaces, and transit points, providing direct linkage to high-speed rail stations for daily travelers, office-goers, and local residents alike.
Route Details and Bus Stops on Each Corridor
- On Route 1, buses run from New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat Station to Anand Vihar ISBT, passing through residential areas such as Chilla Village, Sapera Basti, New Kondli, and Dallupura.
- Route 2 starts at Anand Vihar ISBT and ends at Ashok Nagar Border, covering stretches that include Ghazipur Mandi, Dharamshila Hospital Crossing, and Trilokpuri.
- Route 3 begins at Ashok Nagar Border and continues to Mayur Vihar Phase-3 Paper Market, ensuring that densely populated sectors like Mayur Vihar are connected to the transit grid.
All routes are operational from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM, offering commuters frequent and reliable services during both peak and non-peak hours.
Mini Electric Bus Namo Bharat Fare/ Ticket Price
The fare for these mini buses is designed to be affordable, following the same structure as Delhi’s other AC electric buses. The price ranges from ₹10 to ₹25, depending on the distance traveled. Additionally, women passengers can travel for free under the Delhi Government’s Pink Pass Scheme, making the service both accessible and inclusive.
Features of DEVI Mini Electric Buses
These 23-seater AC mini electric buses are equipped with modern amenities for a safe and comfortable ride. Key features include:
-
Wheelchair access with ramps and kneeling functionality
-
CCTV surveillance and panic buttons for passenger safety
-
Real-time GPS tracking and automated voice announcements
-
LED route display systems for route clarity
-
Zero-emission electric engines, making them environmentally friendly
With a fast charging time of 45 minutes and a range of 200+ kilometers, these buses are ideal for frequent, high-frequency urban use.
Improved Access to Namo Bharat Rail for East Delhi Residents
This mini bus service is a significant benefit to people living in Chilla Village, Sapera Basti, Ghazipur Village, New Kondli, Dallupura, Trilokpuri, and nearby areas. Commuters in these regions now have a direct, clean, and reliable option to reach the Namo Bharat stations without the hassle of auto-rickshaw transfers or personal vehicle use. The service promotes the use of public transport and reduces traffic congestion on arterial roads.
Delhi Government and NCRTC’s Vision for Clean Mobility
This collaboration between DTC and NCRTC reflects a larger vision to create an integrated and sustainable urban transport network. The DEVI scheme, with its focus on electric mobility and last-mile integration, is a step toward making Delhi a green and connected city. By enabling direct access to high-speed rail stations, the initiative is expected to drive up the usage of Namo Bharat trains and reduce Delhi’s carbon footprint.
