The integrated QR-code ticketing system will afford the passengers the ability to make alternate usage of the mobile app of one system or the other or both during their travel. In the beginning of this month, a very similar agreement was made between NCRTC and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC). The IRCTC app now allows passengers to book rapid rail tickets or buy NaMo Bharat tickets up to 120 days in advance with sought-after Indian Railways tickets.

Benefits for Passengers

An official of NCRTC explained, “As far as Rapid Rail stations are concerned, these have been built close or combined with railway and metro stations and bus depots. This will offer travel across various cities without the hassle of relying on multiple ticketing apps, whose functionality is confined to either NCRTC or DMRC. This new feature is likely to lessen the queuing process at the NCRTC as well as DMRC stations encouraging even more rail-based commuting in the delhi-ncr region. Thus; in true within NCR marketing travel centers will get more active.
