There will now be more vitality in transportation facilities between Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro Corridor has been approved by the Public Investment Board of the Central Finance Ministry. According to Raj Niwas, this corridor which is 26.5 kilometers long will have a total of 21 stations and is expected to be completed within four years of approval. This will enhance connectivity in areas like Narela-Bawana and Alipur among others thus boosting the infrastructure there.
It would also speed up development in Rohini suburbs which have been awaiting it. On several occasions, the Lieutenant Governor raised this with the Center. Thereafter, the proposal by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development along with DDA were approved by the PIB of MoFCEA (MoHUA). This move is also expected to change the socio-economic scenario in North Haryanas’s district.
Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro Stations
The corridor shall cover seven sectors of Rohini, Barwala, Sanoth village, New Sanoth village, Narela, JJ Colony, two stations in the Bawana industrial area, and five stations in Narela region besides Anaj Mandi, Narela DDA Sports Complex, Narela village, Depot station and Narela Sector-5 station.
Completion Of 12 Year Wish For Narela Residents
Construction for the sixth corridor under Delhi Metro Phase-4 is slated to start soon. The residents of Narela have been demanding it for a very long period. As per records, the project had been stuck in files for almost twelve years. This will ease the commute not only for millions traveling from Rithala to Alipur but also all those who resides around these areas.DDA claims that enhanced transportation infrastructure through improved connectivity should bring about significant changes on those regions’ landscape as well as foster more people\’s movement due to better transport systems.
Officials said that construction work is likely to start soon. For this, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved a grant of 1000 crores rupees. With the extension of the Rithala Metro, it will be the first corridor connecting Delhi directly to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
40% Cost To Be Borne By Centre
The total estimated cost for the Rithala-Narela-Kundli Metro Corridor is ₹6,231 crore Rupees. Out of which ₹5,685 crore Rupees are for construction within Delhi and ₹547 crore Rupees on the Haryana side. Around 40% of the cost for construction in Delhi shall be borne by the central government while DDA alone will give 1000 Crores Rupees.
1.25 Lakh People Will Travel Everyday
This corridor will act as a catalyst towards ensuring that there’s seamless connectivity among three states; Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi. It is projected that by 2028 when this project gets completed about 1,25,000 people shall be travelling daily which would increase to 3,80,000 by 2055.
Direct Travel From Ghaziabad To Nathupur
Nathupur and Kundli areas shall be connected to the already operational Red Line through the metro extension. Red Line covers important locations in the central & eastern parts of the city including Ghaziabad in UP as such residents from Ghaziabad will have better optionality vis-a-vis commuting into heartland areas using DMRC.On another note when this corridor begins operation transportation between these three states shall become more frictionless due to its proximity with PP.PP has been yearning for this passage over time.
